The story behind the Picotin Lock

A supple, bucket-like bag closed by a leather strap and padlock; a picotin is a measure of oats for a horse. Lining, handles and accessories vary by size and edition.

The Picotin Lock is Hermès's open-top bucket bag, closed by a strap and the signature padlock. In black Clémence, the soft, grained leather gives it a relaxed silhouette, and gold hardware warms the black with a note of equestrian structure.

Collector's Insight:
The Picotin takes its name from a measure of oats for horses, and the Lock version adds the house padlock to the simple bucket.

Resale Insight:
