The story behind the Jypsière

Jean Paul Gaultier's fusion of a hunting bag and the Birkin, introduced in 2008: a crossbody with Hermès' turn clasp, straps and a polished wedge, two gussets under an adjustable shoulder strap, and zipped, flat and phone pockets inside. Hermès currently makes it in a mini and a 28.

Read the Jypsière reference

Clemence leather is heavier-grained than Togo, with a softer drape that gives the bag a relaxed silhouette. It ages well and resists visible scratches.

Interior is lined in matching leather. Hermès craftsmanship is evident in the hand-stitched saddle stitch, a technique that uses two needles working in opposite directions through pre-punched holes. Each piece is completed by a single artisan.
