Hermès Birkin 30 Patchwork Vert Foncé, Vert Titien and Émeraude Porosus Crocodile, Chèvre, Clémence and Box Calf Palladium Hardware

Each part of this Birkin is cut from a different leather. The flap is shiny porosus crocodile in Émeraude, the front handle matte porosus in Vert Titien, the front panel Vert Foncé chèvre and the sangles Vert Foncé Box calf. Each panel carries its own texture, so the greens shift from glossy to matte across the bag.

The rear handle is a lighter, grained green, so the two handles do not match. The padlock and clochette are sheathed in matte crocodile, and the clochette is lined in the same pink as the interior.

Inside, a Rose Azalée chèvre lining contrasts with the greens, and the pink shows at the keyholes cut through the crocodile flap. Palladium hardware keeps the palette cool, and at 30 cm the Birkin keeps its classic proportions.

Collector's Insight:
Hermès issued the Patchwork Birkin as a limited edition, combining several leathers and exotic skins in one bag where a standard Birkin uses one. The Rose Azalée interior adds a contrast the exterior does not show.

Resale Insight:
As a limited edition, the Patchwork Birkin is compared with other Patchwork examples rather than with standard Birkin 30s. Buyers check the seams where the leathers meet and the crocodile panels for scale damage.
