The story behind the Bolide
Hermès dates the Bolide to 1923 and ties its rounded, zipped design to motor travel; it was the first Hermès bag closed by a zipper. Made in miniature, handbag and travel sizes.
Discover Hermès Bolide BagsThe Skateboard edition replaces the standard Bolide base with a printed Swift leather panel featuring graphic artwork in black, red, yellow, and white, mounted on four metal skateboard-style truck studs that serve as the bag's feet. Gold Togo forms the body and handles above the printed base. The two materials create a split construction: structured Togo on top, graphic Swift on the bottom.
Collector's Insight:
The Bolide Skateboard was produced as a limited edition with the printed Swift base panel referencing street culture and automotive racing graphics. The skateboard truck hardware on the base is functional and replaces standard Bolide feet. Production was limited to a small number of colorway combinations across a single season.
