Kelly Danse II in the fringe edition: Marfa Swift leather with long leather fringe extending from the base, hand-laced along the full width via a whipstitch seam visible at the junction. Palladium Kelly tournante closure on the front flap, tonal stitching throughout. The adjustable flat leather strap threads through rear D-rings, configuring the bag as a crossbody, shoulder bag, backpack, belt bag, or clutch with the strap detached.

Swift is a smooth, fine-grained calfskin: lightweight, saturated in color, with a soft sheen. It is the hide the fringe requires, cutting cleanly and hanging without curling. Marfa is a soft greige neutral, cooler and quieter than Sesame or Gold, reading almost stone-colored beneath palladium.

Collector's Insight: The Kelly Danse was designed by Jean-Paul Gaultier and produced from 2008 to 2013; Hermès reintroduced it as the Kelly Danse II in 2019 with updated proportions. The fringe edition is a seasonal limited run produced exclusively in Swift, the only hide supple enough for the strands to move as intended, and was never added to the permanent Danse line.

Resale Insight: Danse variants with design modifications trade above standard Kelly Danse pricing, and seasonal runs of this scale rarely return. This example is 2023 production in pristine condition with no wear to the fringe, the first area to show handling on this model.
