The story behind the Cadenas
Hermès evening clutch shaped like the house padlock, in Tadelakt calfskin with a lambskin lining and handle, closed by a zip. Hermès lists it at L 17 × H 23 × D 2 cm.

Tadelakt is a smooth calfskin with a polished finish. With tonal stitching and no contrast color, the raised lines carry the design on their own.
Collector's Insight:
Hermès has used the cadenas padlock as a motif for decades, on charms, belts and silk. The Cadenas clutch turns the lock itself into the object.
Resale Insight:
Smooth calfskin shows scratches more readily than grained leather, so buyers check the flat faces and the top of the handle, where marks show first on black.
