The Touch series places exotic skin on the handles and flap of a calfskin-bodied Birkin, a deliberate inversion of the full-exotic format: the crocodile sits where the hand and eye land first, while the body carries a grained leather built for daily use. The pairing here is Noir Novillo against Shiny Niloticus Crocodile, matte pebbled grain on the body meeting the lacquered scale of the handles, flap, and sangles in a single black register.
Novillo is a young-bull calfskin with a fine, springy grain that holds structure at the B30 scale while staying lighter than Togo. The Shiny Niloticus finish is achieved by agate-stone polishing, which compresses the scale surface to a glasslike depth that reads as liquid black against the matte body. Gold hardware warms the monochrome and separates the two textures where they meet at the flap line.
