The story behind the Birkin
Originated in 1984 from a conversation between Jane Birkin and Hermès Executive Chairman Jean-Louis Dumas; its structural lineage traces to the Haut à Courroies. Familiar sizes are 25, 30, 35 and 40 cm, alongside miniature, shoulder and travel versions, in both Retourné and Sellier construction.

Epsom is the house's embossed calfskin, prized for holding its shape absolutely. The grain is pressed rather than natural, which produces crisp corners, clean lines, and a structure that does not slouch with age. Palladium hardware keeps the palette entirely cool and monochromatic: the most understated configuration Hermès offers on a neutral.
This example is presented in exceptional condition, with the protective plastic still in place and an interior showing no press marks whatsoever, a strong indicator of careful storage rather than regular carry.
