The story behind the Birkin
Originated in 1984 from a conversation between Jane Birkin and Hermès Executive Chairman Jean-Louis Dumas; its structural lineage traces to the Haut à Courroies. Familiar sizes are 25, 30, 35 and 40 cm, alongside miniature, shoulder and travel versions, in both Retourné and Sellier construction.
Discover Hermès Birkin BagsBambou is a vivid, saturated green with no blue or yellow bias, a true primary green. On Togo's pebbled grain it holds its intensity without muting.
Gold hardware warms the green, and at 30 cm the Birkin carries the color at a full day size.
Collector's Insight:
Bambou was made for a limited period, and it sits apart among Hermès greens as a clean, true green without olive, teal or forest shifts.
Resale Insight:
Bright Togo shows color transfer and fading at the corners and handles, so buyers check those first.
