The story behind the Birkin
Originated in 1984 from a conversation between Jane Birkin and Hermès Executive Chairman Jean-Louis Dumas; its structural lineage traces to the Haut à Courroies. Familiar sizes are 25, 30, 35 and 40 cm, alongside miniature, shoulder and travel versions, in both Retourné and Sellier construction.

Beige Marfa is a warm, dusty desert beige. The body is Toile canvas with Swift at the handles, sangles, flap and reinforcement points, matched in tone so the bag reads as one color across two materials, and palladium hardware gives it a cooler, more technical finish.
Collector's Insight:
The Cargo is one of the few Birkins designed around utility pockets, and its canvas-and-Swift construction makes it lighter than an all-leather Birkin of the same size.
Resale Insight:
Canvas shows dirt and color transfer more readily than leather, so buyers check the Toile body, especially the pocket edges and base, along with the Swift trim at the handles.
