The story behind the Birkin

Originated in 1984 from a conversation between Jane Birkin and Hermès Executive Chairman Jean-Louis Dumas; its structural lineage traces to the Haut à Courroies. Familiar sizes are 25, 30, 35 and 40 cm, alongside miniature, shoulder and travel versions, in both Retourné and Sellier construction.

Discover Hermès Birkin Bags

On Togo the grain gives it a subtle sheen and depth, and the leather stands up to daily carry.

Gold hardware adds warmth against the purple, and at 25 cm the Birkin carries the color in a compact frame.

Collector's Insight:
Anemone returns in waves rather than staying in continuous production, and small Birkins in the color stay in steady demand.

Resale Insight:
Saturated Togo shows color loss at the corners and handles with use, so those are the first points buyers check.
