Hermès Balusoie Bag Jaune De Naples Equateur Silk Print And Naturel Hunter
Hermès Balusoie Bag Jaune de Naples Équateur Silk Print and Naturel Hunter
The Balusoie translates the Hermès scarf into a carried object: a soft bucket silhouette cut from printed silk twill, framed in Vache Hunter, the natural undyed cowhide the house reserves for its casual saddlery pieces. The silk here carries Équateur, Robert Dallet's 1988 composition of equatorial birds and jungle fauna, one of the most collected prints in the carré archive, rendered on a Jaune de Naples ground that gives the drawing a warm, sunlit field.
The construction is deliberately light: a smooth Hunter leather handle, a pull-tab closure with palladium hardware, and a leather-lined interior. Hunter is left raw at the edges and darkens with handling the way Barénia and Vache Naturelle do, so the frame records its use while the silk stays vivid. The pairing of scarf silk and saddle leather is the point of the piece, the house's two founding crafts joined in one bag.

Collector's Insight: Silk-bodied Hermès bags occupy a small production lane, and pieces carrying archive prints trade on the print as much as the model: Équateur is a Dallet design with its own collecting audience across scarves, porcelain, and leather goods. The Balusoie's Hunter frame places it in the same natural-leather family as the Herbag and the house's saddlery pieces, and surviving examples with vivid, unfaded silk are the minority.
Resale Insight: Print-driven pieces reach two buyer pools at once, the bag collector and the Équateur completist, which supports demand out of proportion to the model's production volume. Condition turns on the silk: clean, unfaded panels define the top of the market because printed twill cannot be restored.
