The Hermès Haut à Courroies (HAC) 40 in Poussière Shiny Porosus Crocodile with Palladium Hardware is the original Hermès travel bag, designed in 1892 to carry saddles and riding equipment. The HAC differs from the Birkin with taller proportions and shorter handles: less wearable as a handbag and more functional as a travel piece. The 40cm size is substantial, designed for weekend travel rather than daily use.
Crafted in Porosus crocodile (saltwater crocodile) with high-gloss finish. Porosus features smaller, more symmetrical scales than alligator: the pattern is tighter and more uniform. Porosus is indicated by a circumflex (^) stamp near the Hermès logo. Poussière is a discontinued beige-grey neutral whose name translates to "dust." It's a complex sandy beige with grey undertones, warmer than Etoupe, more neutral than Gold. Palladium hardware provides cool-toned contrast. In Excellent condition.
