The 1990’s was a renaissance for Hermès’ color department. The two most powerful shades to emerge from this formative era were also two shades that have miraculously withstood the dulling effects of time: Orange H (Orange d' Hermès if you'd prefer. You may recognize it from the boxes?) and Vert Cru, also known as Granny or Apple green. Recognizing the paired cohesion of intensity between these colors, Hermès produced a limited series of iconic bags directly contrasting the two beside one another. The effect is electric. This 20cm Retourne Kelly features the pairing in smooth Gulliver leather with gold hardware, and has been kept in exquisite condition. Not only is this bag a rare vintage size, but also a prime collectible example from this memorable era in Hermès' history.
