Hermès Medor 23 Clutch Bleu Pétrole Lizard Palladium Hardware
Hermès Medor 23 Clutch Bleu Pétrole Lizard Palladium Hardware
The Medor Clutch was produced from roughly 2009 to 2013, then discontinued. The defining feature is the Collier de Chien closure lifted directly from Hermès dog collars and bracelets: four pyramid studs flanking a slotted metal plate mounted on a leather strap that wraps the body and locks the flap. It functions as the clasp and as the design statement, with no other surface elements competing for attention. Bleu Pétrole runs deep teal-blue with cool undertones and no warmth. Lizard breaks the color across hundreds of fine tightly-packed scales, each catching light at a slightly different angle, producing a surface that shifts in tone as it moves rather than reading flat. Palladium hardware sits clean against the cool teal.

Collector's Insight: Lizard is the finest-scaled exotic Hermès works with, smaller and more uniform than alligator or crocodile, suiting the Medor's tight proportions where larger-tiled exotics would overwhelm. Hermès lizard output accounts for a sliver of annual exotic production. A Medor 23 in lizard during its short 2009 to 2013 production window would have been an extremely limited allocation. Once discontinued, these stopped entering the market entirely.
Resale Insight: Exotic Medor Clutches trade in a thin market with fixed supply and production permanently closed. The Collier de Chien hardware gives the piece more visual weight than a Jige or Égée, which read quieter. Calfskin Medors surface occasionally; lizard far less so. Bleu Pétrole in this skin is not a pairing that comes up often.
