Hermès Kelly Pochette Bleu Saphir Shiny Alligator Gold Hardware

Bleu Saphir on shiny alligator reads as a deep, saturated navy that borders on black in low light and flashes rich sapphire blue when it catches direct light. The Mississippiensis scale pattern is wider and flatter than Porosus, with a more rectangular tile arrangement, and on the Pochette's flat, uninterrupted front face the larger tiles have room to display their full geometry.

The Kelly Pochette is the clutch expression of the Kelly silhouette: same flap, same sangles, same tournante closure, compressed into a flat format with a single short top handle. There is no lock, keys, or clochette; the tournante operates without them. The interior is lined in matching leather with one open wall pocket. Gold hardware warms the deep blue and adds a contrast that Palladium would not produce at this depth of color.

Collector's Insight:
Exotic Kelly Pochettes receive the smallest production allocation of any exotic Kelly format. Bleu Saphir in Mississippiensis is a less common species pairing than Porosus or Niloticus for this color, and the wider scale pattern produces a different visual effect: fewer, larger tiles across the face rather than the dense mosaic of Porosus. Hermès uses Mississippiensis less frequently than the two crocodile species, making it the rarer exotic designation on bags of this type.

Resale Insight:
Exotic Kelly Pochettes in dark blues with Gold hardware occupy the top tier of the Hermès clutch secondary market. Bleu Saphir is a permanent-palette color with consistent collector demand, and the Mississippiensis species adds a layer of specification rarity that Porosus and Niloticus examples do not carry. The flat format and evening positioning make it one of the more liquid exotic small pieces when condition and documentation are strong.
