Hermès In-The-Loop Waist Bag Gris Shearling and Swift Palladium Hardware

The In-The-Loop takes its name from the Chaîne d'Ancre, the anchor-chain link Hermès has used as a house signature since the 1930s. On this waist bag the motif is not applied as hardware but built into the object itself: an oval body with the link worked directly into the panel, stitched in Swift calfskin on one face and rendered in contrasting shearling on the reverse.

Shearling appears in the Hermès leather-goods program only in winter capsules and only in small numbers, since the material has to be matched for nap and density across every panel. The pale ecru face against a grey border makes the Chaîne d'Ancre read as a graphic rather than a detail. Palladium hardware and a Chaîne d'Ancre chain complete it, and the strap converts between waist and crossbody carry.
