From the 2022 Cruise collection, this is Chanel working in wood: a solid beechwood barrel forming the body of the round vanity, banded in black quilted lambskin, with the gold CC turn-lock set into the grain. The pairing runs warm natural material against the house's most familiar leather, and the round vanity silhouette, one of Chanel's defining shapes of the past decade, gives the wood a form it had never taken before this season.
The interior is lined in quilted black lambskin with a flap pocket that quotes the classic flap bag inside the case. The gold chain strap carries it crossbody or over the shoulder, and without the chain it works as a hand-held minaudière for evening.
