Hermès Kelly 25 Sellier Rouge Piment Box Calf Gold Hardware

Piment is French for chili pepper, and Rouge Piment reads here as a deep, saturated red. Box calf is smooth, polished and firm, holding the Sellier's sharp edges without softening.

White topstitching runs the flap, the sangles and the sides, drawing the construction in contrast against the red. The same white thread outlines the handle, the clochette, the shoulder strap and the base, which stands on four gold feet. It continues inside, where the red lining carries a zip pocket.

Box records its history: light scratches can be buffed out, and the surface deepens into a patina with carrying. The gold padlock and the clochette hang together from the handle, and the shoulder strap takes the bag hands-free.
