For Chanel’s spring 2010 fashion show, Karl Lagerfeld envisioned and created a pastoral country barn through which models walked carrying country-casual versions of the unusual runway bags Chanel fans love. This exceptional example, dubbed the Coco Country tote, has a heavy woven raffia body with an oversized black and white chain CC, woven white tweed flap, and soft black lambskin lady braid handles. Only a few of these bags were produced, which at the time retailed for $5,400, making them among the priciest pieces in the collection. Today Lagerfeld’s designs are collected with a passion, his whimsical and timeless take on the Chanel woman remains firmly held in the hearts of his fans.

Where used in this sale the term "hardware" refers to the metallic parts of the bag, such as the buckle hardware, base studs, lock and keys and/or strap, which are plated with a coloured finish (e.g. gold, silver, palladium). The terms "Gold Hardware", "Silver Hardware", "Palladium Hardware" etc. refer to the tone or colour of the hardware and not the actual material used.
